Names

This week, we learned how to understand where certain letters go when writing in Maori. We were given clues to help us with our tasks.

First, we had to match english names to the right Maori name. We used our knowledge of the Maori letters to find the correct answer. For example: Raniera is daniel, Hone is John and Maaka is Mark.

After that, there were Maori phrases on a document that we had to translate into english. Foor example: Tena kotou katoa which is greeting to you all and Te kau ma waru ōku tau which is I am eighteen years old.

I enjoyed learning new Maori names.
