Making connections

Connections are similiar ideas compared between the readers experiences or knowledge and the text being read. There are three differnent types of connections. They are: text to self, text to text, and text to world.

Text to self is talking about something that links to what you have done. For example: in the book water power people had to go through a maze of tunnels. My connection: I have been through a maze of tunnels

Text to text is talking about something that links with another book. For example: in the story water power the people took risk and had to go up high. My connection: In the story jack and the beanstalk jack had to take a risk and climb up the beanstalk without looking down.

Text to world is something that links with something that has happened around the world. For example: In the story water power the people that built the dam took fifteen years. My connection: Workers take months or years to make houses or buildings.

LI. To make connections.
