I read a book about earthquakes again which was written by Rachel Walker.

This book talks about how earthqaukes start, how strong they are and what to do in a earthqauke situation.

The location below the earth's surface where the earthquake starts is called the focus. Energy from an earthquake starts deep in the earth and moves up from the focus directly to the central point on the surface.

When a strong earthquake occurs you should follow these rules: stay calm, leave the area immediately, and head from the hills and up a steep hill.

I enjoyed getting to know more about earthquakes and what they did.

  1. Kia ora Emmanuel, another interesting book choice! I have been in an earthquake once in Napier and it was a little scary although it was a very small one - have you tried the earthquake simulator at the Auckland Museum?
