A character trait is inferring about a character in a book and how they act.
A character trait uses adjectives to describe the character. In the Highway Rat there are 3 character that can be describe using traits.
The duck is confident because she tries to defend herself from the highway rat so he doesn't take her cupcake. The duck is a trickster because she tells the rat that she has a sister a the top of an echoey cave with lots of treats. The duck is helpful and caring because she takes back the food to the villagers because as it was the right thing to take back the villagers food.
Using character traits helps understanding why or how a character is doing something based on the description or opinions used.
