Summarizing
This week we learned about summarizing.
We needed to link our character trait and story web to help us. I used my visualization from week 1 to help me separate each parts of the story.
I used my character inference trait and adjective to help summarize each parts. Using good adjectives will unlock meaningful information so I can summarize quicker.
Connecting all of the 3 strategies helped me understand each parts of the story of jack and the beanstalk , character, and keywords.
I enjoyed this activity because it helped me understand each parts of the story.

Swimming
Today I practised my water safety skills at the Lagoon Pools.
The first skill I practised was gliding. To glide I needed to push off the platform, face in the water and kick.
Then I practised swimming on my back. To do this I keep my head facing the roof and paddle my feet.
Lastly I practised a dolphin kick. To do this I pusheed and wiggled my body forward and back.
I was getting better at swimming on my back. But I needed to improve on holding my breath for long underwater.
LI. to develop knowledge of water safety.

Ki-o-Rahi
LI. Summarize using visualising and inferencing.
This week we were learning to summarise.
We also needed to link visualisation and inferencing to help us.
We filled in a story web to summarise each part of the story. I used my visualisation from week 1 to help separate the parts of the story. I used my character inference traits to use adjectives and evidence to help summarise different parts.
Using good adjectives unlocks meaningful information, and I can summarise quicker.
Connecting all 3 strategies helped me to understand the story, characters, and keywords.
