Teamwork | HPE

Teamwork is a term to describe a group of people working together to achieve a goal.

Teamwork consists of three main mechanisms.

Communication is talking with each other. An example of what communication is in dodgeball when someone has the ball and their name gets called out to pass the ball.

Cooperation is helping each other and including each other. An example of what cooperation is in dodgeball when a team works together to win the game.

Collaboration is working with each other. An example of what collaboration is in dodgeball is when someone is throwing the ball and they get warned by their teamates.

This video shows the mechanism of communication.

To be successful as a team all three mechanisms need to implemented throughout the activity.

I read the whole book of Rugby league written by Jon Richards.

The book is about Rugby skills and players. One of the facts about Rugby league is: players start
a rugby match with a kick off. they use a kicking tee to hold the ball in place.

I enjoyed the book because I learnt lots of new facts.

Basic Facts Boxes

I completed basic facts boxes multiplication. The basic facts boxes challenge is to answer the questions quickly.

I got 100/100 correct and my time was 4 minutes and 32 seconds. The hardest row of times tables to do was my 8 times tables and my 9 times tables.

I need to work on my 8 and my 9 times tables because I kept on getting stuck on it then moving on. My goal next time is to do division and keep on moving on.

Making Connections

Connections are similiar ideas compared between the readers experiences or knowledge and the text being read. There are three differnent types of connections. They are: text to self, text to text, and text to world.

Text to text is talking about something that links to yourself. For example: The duck shared food with the villagers. The duck did the right thing as it was the villagers’ food. My connection is: I have shared food with my cousins because they were hungry. It connects because they both use empathy. Empathy means sharing feelings with another person.

Text to text is talking about something that links to another text in a book. For example: The duck told the highway rat to thinking there was food at the top of a echoey cave. The duck was trying to not get eaten by the rat. My connection is: In the story the Gruffalo, the mouse tricks the owl, fox, and the snake into thinking there was a beast named the Gruffalo. It connects because they both use deception. Deception means tricking someone into thinking you're telling something true.

Text to world is talking about something that links to the world. For example: The duck tried to defend herself from the highway rat. The duck tried to take back her cupcake from the highway rat. My connection is: In the world people defend themselves from thieves that try to steal their food. It connects because they both use fearlessness. Fearless means your not scared of anyone or anything.

Making connections can help understand about another text, about ourselves, and about the world.

Multiplication

Multiplication is a faster way of addding the same number many times. The two, five, and ten times tables are examples of multiplication.

The three times tables are multiplying three by a number of groups. The four times tables are multiplying four by a number of groups. The six times tables are multiplying six by a number of groups.

The times tables are an easy way to remember basic multiplication equations. The next times tables to learn are the sevens, eights, and nine times tables.

SSR Selfie | Superman

I read 30 pages of the book Superman by Simonson Vecchio.

The book was about Superman trying to destroy Lex Luthors energy weapon called the hammerz. Lex luthor ships the hammerz with his goons guarding it. Superman has to fight the goons in order to save the city.

Superman suit is red, blue, and yellow. Lex luthors suit is green, purple, and red in the middle.

I like superman because he defeats Lex Luthors goons.
