Basic Facts Boxes

Basic facts boxes is an activity that helps you increase your speed and maths. I took 4 minutes and 5 seconds to complete my addition. It took 2 minutes and 32 seconds to complete my Subtraction.

This week I did SSR selfie

First you have to write who are in the book.

Then you have to write what happened in the story.

Next you have to write what you think of the book.

Lastly you have to list some new words.

Character Description

Superman is a superhero who lives and works in Metropolis.  When he is done saving people,  He always flies and says “ I am Superman” His cape is like blood. Superman’s eyes are like the blue sky. His hair is like the night sky, and he is like a

flag pole.

Superman's weakness is Kryptonite. He is always Kind to people by saving them from someone evil. Superman is the father of Jonathan Samuel Kent.

Summarizing

This week we learned about summarizing.

We needed to link our character trait and story web to help us. I used my visualization from week 1 to help me separate each parts of the story.

I used my character inference trait and adjective to help summarize each parts. Using good adjectives will unlock meaningful information so I can summarize quicker.

Connecting all of the 3 strategies helped me understand each parts of the story of jack and the beanstalk , character, and keywords.

I enjoyed this activity because it helped me understand each parts of the story.


 

Multiplication / word problems

How to solve a word problem by following these steps.

A. First you have to look for the group size.
B. A restaurant sold six burgers for a week. how many Hamburgers were sold for a week .
C. Now you have to look for the number of groups.
D. A restaurant sold six burgers for a week. how many Hamburgers were sold for a week .

After that you have to write the number sentence: 6 x 7 = 42.
Lastly you have to write the answer in the right way like this: The restaurant sold 42 burgers for a week.

Multiplication is a faster way of adding a lot of the same number.
Identify a word problem by following these steps.

1. First look for the group size.
2. Melanie worked for 3 hours and 5 days. How many hours did she work in total.
1. Next look for the number group.
2. Melanie worked for 3 hours for 5 days. how many hours did she work in total
